Kid’s Planet provides a Christian base learning environment. The curriculum was created by a school administrator/curriculum director. The daily activities focus on developing literacy skills. Children that have advanced literacy skill are much more likely to do well throughout their school years. Literacy starts to develop long before a child goes to kindergarten and begins to master the technical skills involved in reading and writing. Literacy begins with play. Our curriculum is structured around increasing their literacy skills by building a bridge between play and learning. Through this approach they develop a positive attitude towards literacy.

For the past fifteen years I have worked on developing best practices around Success by Six ® and Born Learning ®. Both of these initiatives are research based programs that support early brain development. What we have learned is that the first years last forever! The years between birth and the age of three are the most critical period of brain development. Children spend the first three years of their life developing the framework for life long learning.
Early stimulation sets the stage for how children learn and interact with others throughout their lives. Loving interaction with caring adults stimulates a child’s brain causing new synapses to form and existing connections to grow stronger. During this critical period there are “windows of opportunity” when specific types of learning take place. Once these windows close, the opportunity is lost, and will never be presented in the same way again.
At Kid’s Planet we know that every moment counts. Every interaction with a child is an important part of who they are now and who they will become. It is their world and our job is to help them explore it, take care of it, and find their unique place in it. We are honored that you have entrusted us with this role.
